A clinical study was done in 72 cases of Degenerative arthritis of Knee Joint patients.
@ES The results obtained were as follows:
@EN 1. The ratio between male and female was 1: 2.4, the patients' ages ranged mostly between the fifties and sixties.
2. In terms of occupation, we saw the majority of the patient were agriculture and wit regard to the duration of case history, the majority of the patient remained ill in bad from 1-3 years.
3. In the aspect of prevalent site, left, right and bilateral was the same, and in terms of tend of tenderness medial was most numerous.
4. For the methods of treatment, acupuncture therapy, buhwang therapy, moxibustion therapy and physical therapy were most often applied togather, and for the herb-medication.
Daebangpoongtangkami was most often used.
5. 37 cases out of 62 cases visited the hospital for treatment more than three times, which amounts to 59.7%, and the periods of hospitalization for treatment varied from 11-20 days.
6. In the assessment off oriental treatment, excellent, good slight good poor were 12.8%, 48.9%, 27.7, 10.6% respectively, and the total rate of improvement was 60.7%.
